When we recall the work of such figures as Milton Erickson, Virginia Satir and Carl Whitaker, we detect another layer: artistry. Surprisingly, artistry is something that can be taught, or more accurately, expanded or enhanced. Everyone has the capacity. And it is artistry that brings forth all of that skill, experience, research and theory in effective and generative ways.
In this lecture, Dr. Jeffrey Zeig identifies the creative patterns of Erickson (and others) and then bring them to life through demonstration, experiential exercises, improvisation and individual and group activities. Attendees will expand their lenses (ways of viewing), strengthen their muscles (ways of doing) and foster greater flexibility (ways of being). Therapists from all disciplines and at every level of experience can benefit.

Bio:
Dr. Zeig is the founder and director of the Milton H. Erickson Foundation, having studied intermittently with Dr. Erickson for more than six years. He is the architect of the Evolution of Psychotherapy Conferences, widely regarded both as the world’s largest and its most important conference devoted to psychotherapy. He also organizes the Brief Therapy Conferences, the Couples Conferences and the International Congresses on Ericksonian Approaches to Hypnosis and Psychotherapy. The author, co-author or editor of more than 20 books, Dr. Zeig maintains a private practice in Phoenix, Arizona and is a frequent and in-demand speaker at major universities and teaching hospitals around the world, including the Mayo Clinic, the Menninger Clinic and MD Anderson.
